Whether you’re inspired by the changing leaves on weekend walks, stunning sunsets, or deep chocolate-coloured conkers, taking your cue from nature is a nice way to bring the outdoors in and celebrate the arrival of the new season.
Autumnal tones are rarely out of fashion in some way or another but we’re seeing a return to the warmer side of the colour spectrum, just as the temperature is starting to fall. Here are just a few ways to embrace those seasonal shades in your home this season.
1. Lichen green and russet red

Creating a tranquil space to relax and unwind in the cooler months of the year. A simple, earthy palette featuring natural tones along with punches of lichen green and russet red all pair wonderfully with rustic and natural oak.
2. Burnished orange

From burnished leaves to pumpkin patches, orange is a warm and happy colour that just radiates autumn sunshine. Consider adding subtle touches of the shade to your home in the form of accessories or art, and team with natural pieces, such as our Belmond lamp, to tie in with elements of nature.
3. Rustic earthy tones

Give your bedroom a lick of paint, with earthy tones a lovely way to add an autumnal refresh to the space. Team with a natural-coloured upholstered bed and wooden bedside tables for a look that feels warm, cosy and most definitely inviting.
4. Emerald green

Emerald green is especially rich as the leaves go darker towards the end of the summer months. The shade looks particularly affective in large swatches mixed with natural wood and foliage as seen in this beautiful living room.
5. Natural wood tones

While not technically a colour, natural finishes are a big hit and work beautifully along with any autumnal shades. The natural grain and texture complements any setting and adds a cosy texture and warmth to your home, that’s perfect for this season and beyond.
6. Ochre
Orbit accent chair
Along with all things 70s, ochre is making a comeback, replacing its sunny bright yellow counterpart with something just a bit more grown up in style. Consider adding this shade as accents, like this accent chair and a coordinated lamp.
7. Jewel-toned greens

And finally, one of our favourites for the season is jewel-toned greens. This shade works beautifully with both neutrals as well as softer hues and tactile fabrics, like velvet, which adds a richness to your space. Painting an entire room in the colour can really make a statement but if you don’t want to commit to changing a whole wall, create a feature behind the headboard to add a dramatic look that softens a more contemporary bed.
