Two-Colour Table


Inspired by Muller Van Severen’s love of materials, The Two-Colour Table series showcases contrasting materials and their ability to highlight one another. The designer duo describes their Two-Colour Table series as a marriage of two materials used at their best. Available in a wide range of sizes shapes and colours, each offering a distinct expression. Each table features robust steel tube legs and a tabletop crafted in organic coloured Valchromat, a wood fibre material that is similar to MDF but engineered for high physical performance.

Matin Wall & Flush Lamps


The popular Matin Table Lamp series sees two new variations with the addition of the Matin Wall Lamp and Matin Flush Lamp. Designed by Inga Sempé, the Matin Lamp Series offers a contemporary yet poetic design with a construction that combines visual delicacy with physical robustness. Inspired by the beautiful ribbon shops in Paris, Inga Sempé uses a palette of carefully selected colours. The head of the Wall Lamp can be angled both upwards and downwards creating an ambient uplight or directional downlight light.

Arbour Club Chair & Sofa


The Hay 2021 collection sees two new additions to Andreas Engesvik and Daniel Rybakken’s much loved Arbour seating family, namely the Arbour Club Chair and the Arbour Club Sofa. The collection fuses Scandinavian aesthetics with high comfort, durability and a focus on sustainability. Boasting carefully balanced proportions, Arbour’s instantly recognisable frame creates a strong yet elegant profile with an architectural quality. Slant Table Lamp


Designed in collaboration with Japanese design team Branch, the Slant Table Lamp is inspired by the power of shapes and how they impact their surroundings. Featuring a bold graphic aesthetic and a clean, elemental silhouette, Slant takes possession of the space it occupies. Perfectly balanced, the table lamp is comprised of a simple, slanted cylindrical form with a weighted base. Slant’s sculptural design and functional, directional light make it suitable for a variety of home and office settings.

Knit Coat Rack

Practical and visually appealing in equal measures, Knit is a beautifully simple, elegant coat rack with a distinctive sculptural design. Designed by Jin Kuramoto, the Knit coat Rack is comprised of three powder lacquered steel pipe legs. These are ‘knitted’ together to create a strong, self-supporting structure. Developed as part of Hay’s garment hanging selection, Knit features a handy flat-packed design that’s easy to assemble.

Arcs


The second series created by Muller Van Severen for Hay’s 2021 Collection is the beautiful Arcs Range. Arc’s design is defined by a continuous chain of curved arches creating a scalloped silhouette. Once again the duo’s love of material qualities is evident in their designs. Focusing on simple, elemental shapes and intensity of colour, Arcs is crafted from steel and comes in a choice of vibrant colours or with a mirrored surface. Available as a lampshade, wall sconce or wall switch, Arcs has a versatile quality that’s easily integrated into a wide range of interior spaces.

Meet The Designers
Muller Van Severen

Founded in 2011 by Belgian artist duo Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen, the couple creates sculpturally interesting furniture objects. Their work sits somewhere between design and art, drawing on their passion for architecture and materials. In collaboration with Hay, the design duo have created the Two-Colour Table Series and the Arcs Lighting Collection.
Doshi Levien

London based design studio Doshi Levien was founded in 2000 by creative couple Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien. Nipa grew up in India and studied at the National Institute of Design, while Jonathan, who is from Scotland, trained in fine cabinet making followed by industrial design. Both designers bring their individual skills to their design process. Doshi being primarily concerned with aesthetics and materiality, while Levien is focused on industrial precision and technique. The duo has created the wonderfully inviting Quilton Sofa for the Hay 2021 collection.
